  • Annotation Cazacii din Dobrogea. O istorie uitată (original title). Among the many forgotten histories of the land between the Danube and the Black Sea, one of the most fascinating is that of the Nekrasovite and Zaporozhian Cossacks. Forced to seek refuge in Dobrudja in the 18th century to escape Russian persecution, the Cossacks received full exemptions from taxes, land, and fishing grounds in exchange for their military obligations. The full autonomy of the Cossack troops was recognized and strengthened by firms by the Turkish sultans. The Cossacks from Dobrudja fought in the service of the Gate for more than a century, forming the first line of defense against the Russian armies, which were trying to force the Danube border on their way to Constantinople. It is aimed at researchers, students and the general public.
