The work presents the fortress to the east of Murighiol (Tulcea County), identified with the ancient Halmyris, a fact confirmed by the discovery, in 2001, of the crypt of the martyrs Epictetus and Astion, killed in 290, in the mentioned city. It analyzes elements of urbanism, administrative organization, spiritual life, as well as archaeological pieces (inscriptions, coins and pottery).
