The author discusses in this volume the sculpture of the imperial period from Tomis, not only seen from an artistic and social point of view. Part of it is made up of articles already published. M. Alexandrescu Vianu identifies in the sculpture discovered at Tomis, a local influences along with Bithynian and the influences from Rome and uses monetary iconography to reconstruct lost sculptures.
It is aimed at mostly the researchers, students and much less the general public.
