The burial of a child was discovered during excavations of the multi-layer Upper Paleolithic site located to the west of the Cosăuți village in the Soroca district of the Republic on the right bank of the Dniester River. The burial was discovered at a depth of 8,68-8,82 m, on the edge of a supposed dwelling structure, which is fixed around the hearth by the accumulation of fragments of reindeer bones, flint artifacts and pieces of charcoal. The skeleton of the child was located in situ in a small depression oval in shape, with an increase in the bottom from the pelvic bones to the skull. According to radiocarbon dating, the cultural layer and the burial are dated to 19020-17900 BC and belong to the culture of reindeer hunters of the Molodova-Cosăuți type.
