Представяне The present book is a translation in English of some chapters from the famous work of Dimitrie Cantemir, The History of the Ottoman Empire, with some annotation from the editors. This is Dimitrie Cantemir's eye-witness account of social and cultural life in the Ottoman Empire at the end of the 17th- beginning of the 18th centuries.
